Danco Roofing had the honor of participating in the transformation of the Five Seasons Sports Club on the north side of Indianapolis into the Driven NeuroRecovery Center, powered by NeuroHope. This state-of-the-art facility serves the paralysis community, offering groundbreaking rehabilitation and recovery resources.

Flat Roof

During the design phase, a key question arose: should the flat roof be replaced down to the structural deck, or could the existing insulation be salvaged? Salvaging the insulation would save costs, reduce landfill waste, and accelerate the project schedule. To determine the best course of action, we performed an Infrared Moisture Survey, a non-contact, non-destructive testing method used to detect and document moisture within roofing systems.

The survey revealed that an overlay was feasible. This approach involved replacing wet insulation, enhancing drainage with additional drains and improved saddles, and installing a ½” coverboard over the existing insulation. The final roofing system included an Induction Weld TPO membrane with a 20-year system warranty, covering 28,000 square feet.

Sloped Roof

For the sloped roof, we evaluated several options, including overlaying, coating, or complete replacement of the existing panels. Ultimately, a full replacement was selected for the 74,225-square-foot roof. This included upgrading the metal building insulation to improve energy efficiency and installing a highly durable insulation facer.

The new roof features exposed fastener panels designed for optimal strength and architectural appeal, including curved panels that complement the building’s distinctive radius. Fasteners were upgraded to zinc alloy cap heads with EPDM sealing washers, ensuring a consistent, weather-tight seal that will resist rust for years to come.

Entry Canopy

The entry canopy received a sleek, 1,050-square-foot standing seam roof system, incorporating concealed fasteners, mechanically seamed caps, and a snow guard rail system for added safety.

Prioritizing Safety and Efficiency

As always, safety was a top priority. We collaborated with a third-party safety consultant to develop a Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP), outlining risks, safety practices, and company policies tailored to this project.

Danco Roofing is proud to have played a role in transforming the Driven NeuroRecovery Center into a state-of-the-art facility for the paralysis community. Projects like this remind us why we do what we do—helping build spaces that change lives.
